Vanesa is originally from Croatia (former Yugoslavia). She obtained Bachelor’s of Law at the University of Split, College of Law in Split, Croatia. After graduation, she attended the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary on a full ride where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Comparative Constitutional Law. Shortly after CEU graduation, Vanesa was offered a second full ride scholarship from the Open Society Institute to study at the University of Utah, College of Law, where she obtained her second Master’s Degree in Environmental Law. 

Vanesa obtained Juris Doctor (JD) degree at the University of Utah, College of Law. After passing Oregon State Bar in 2001, she practiced immigration law. She started to practice primarily bankruptcy law in 2003 and has represented hundreds of clients since. Vanesa primarily focuses on bankruptcy and immigration practice.

When not practicing law, Vanesa enjoys spending time with her family, studying foreign languages and fitness. At present she is fluent in English, Spanish, Croatian (Serbian and Bosnian). She is currently studying Russian language with the hope of becoming fluent soon.
